Reduce Animation Transitions
This can make your phone seem faster
1. Obtain developer status by visiting Settings > About Phone and tap on Build Number approximately seven times.
2. Go back to Settings and a new choice should appear—Developer Options.
3. Select Developer Options
4. Scroll down to and select Window Transition scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration scale.
5. Change them to .05x.
You can remove the settings altogether, but movement on your phone may not seem to flow as well, and your user experience may suffer.
Locked out of your phone
If you forgot your device's password or pin to unlock the device. Then we'll need to use Android Debug Bridge (ADB). Using a series of ADB commands, you can unlock your phone, provided you have USB debugging enabled. If you don’t, then this method will not work.
1. Go here to download and install ADB on your Windows computer:
1.) Change your hotspot band from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz. You'll need to do this to share your 5G connection.
2.) See how many devices are connected. If it is at the max amount, take some devices off. iOS and Google devices will reserve bandwidth, which will slow other connected devices.
Set a MP3 as a Ringtone or Notification:
If you have your mp3 downloaded to your phone, then you'll need a file manager app to get it into the Ringtones folder.
1. Some phones have good file managers on them out of the box, but if not, you'll need to download one from the Google Play Store; for our steps, we're using Solid Explorer.
2. Long-press your custom ringtone in the Downloads folder (or whichever local folder you downloaded it to).
3. After long-pressing the ringtone, you can tap more ringtones if you wish to copy multiple sounds at once.
4. Tap the Copy icon ( two documents stacked on top of each other).
5. Swipe in from the left edge of the screen to open the location menu.
6. Tap Internal Memory.
7. Tap the Ringtones folder. If you want to set the sound you're moving as a text tone or an alarm, you would tap the Notifications folder or Alarms folder.
If you don't see these folders, create them with the appropriate names (Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms).
8. Tap Paste.
On some phones, the Settings app will see the new ringtones immediately, but if yours doesn't, reboot the phone. Upon reboot, the new ringtones should appear in the list of available ringtones in the Sounds menu.
How to set a custom ringtone in Settings
1. Open Settings
2. Tap the Sound section. If you don't see a section with Sound in the title, type "Ringtone" into the search bar at the top of your Settings app.
3. Tap Phone ringtone.
4. If you get an "Open with" or "Complete action using" prompt, select the system's Sound Picker app instead of a file manager.
5. Tap the custom ringtone you added to the ringtones folder.
6. Tap Save or OK. If you do not see these options on your device, simply tap the back button to exit the ringtone picker.
If your custom ringtone has been properly set, you will see its name underneath the Phone ringtone.

2. Tap Sound. This menu may be named differently depending on your phone, with possible names being Sound and Display, Personalization, etc.
3. Tap Default notification sound.
4. Select the custom notification sound you added to the Notifications folder.
5. Tap Save or OK. If you do not see these options on your device, simply tap the back button to exit the sound picker.
If your custom notification sound has been properly set, you will see its name underneath the Default notification sound.
How to Insert a Mirco SD card
Beware: Lookup the max mirco SD card capacity your device can do. Also, not all devices will have an SD card slot. If that's you, see the next guide.
How to Connect with a USB OTG cable
Newer Samsung Galaxy phones like the S20 / S21 versions of phones do not have a mirco SD card slot. But this is another option via USB flash drive.
Before anything, you'll need to get the OTG cable so you can connect the flash drive.
Note: Moving files to an SD card works the same way as this guide. Just that the SD card is inside your device.
1. Connect a flash drive (or SD reader with card) to the full-size USB female end of the adapter.
2. Connect USB-C end to your phone.
3. If the file manager did not automatically appear. Go to your home screen and Swipe down from the top to show the notification shade. And select USB Drive.
You can now browse the files on the flash drive and copy them to the phone storage. If you want to copy from the phone storage to the flash drive, follow steps 4 to 8.
4. Tap Internal Storage to view the files on your phone.
5. Find the file you'd like to share. Hold down on it to select it.
6. Tap the three dots button.
7. Select Copy.
8. Navigate to your USB drive and tap Done to copy the file.
Move apps to SD card 1. Navigate to Settings on your phone. You can find the settings menu in the app drawer.
2. Tap Apps.
3. Select an app you want to move to the microSD card.
4. Tap Storage.
5. Tap Change if it’s there.
If you don’t see the Change option, the app cannot be moved. If you are unable to find any apps with this option, it is likely that your device does not support the feature.
6. Tap Move.
If you wish to move an app back to the internal memory, hit the Change button again and select Internal Storage.
How to update Android apps
1. Go to the "Manage apps and device" menu in the Google Play Store app (see step 1 of the previous section if you can't find it).
2. In the "Manage" tab, Tap the "Updates available" button to see all the apps you can currently update. From here, decide if you would prefer to update apps one at a time, or update them in bulk.
3. If you want to update apps individually, tap an app you want to update to be taken to its store page. Then hit the green "Update" button at the top of the page.
4. If you want to update multiple apps, then select your chosen apps by tapping the checkbox on the right side. Then hit the update icon at the top of your screen. It looks like a tick with an arrow circling it.
How to block a phone number 1. First, locate and tap on the Phone app icon in the main menu.
2. Next, tap on the three-dot icon, which should appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
3. Go ahead and tap the Settings option in the drop-down menu as shown below.
4. Next, select the "Block numbers" option.
5. At this stage, you can turn on a feature that blocks any unknown or private numbers by toggling the grey icon.
To block a new number you can either: type in the number manually, select one from the "Recent" calls/text messages, or from your Contacts list. If you're doing the former, make sure to tap "Done" and "+" to finalize the process.
You're all done. You can remove a blocked number at any time by tapping the "-" icon right next to it.
How to clear App cache 1. Drag down on the home screen, then tap the cog icon to open Settings.
2. Tap Storage
3. Tap Other apps
4. You’ll see a list of all your installed apps, along with how much storage space they’re using in total. Tap on an app you want to clear the cache for.
5. Tap “Clear cache.” You can also clear the app cache by tapping “Clear data,” but this will delete more important data like user logins and settings as well, so don’t do this unless you want to start using the app as if it were new.
